Oscar-winning producer Larry Meistrich is in Cannes at the moment to acquire new properties.

His newly-announced company NEHST Studios is actively putting together a slate of movies, TV, and web content. On June 2, in New York, NEHST will hold a unique event open to anyone who's ever said, "I have the greatest idea for a story that should be made into a film or TV show."

On Saturday June 2nd, Larry and his team from NEHST will hold a group "pitch session" for filmmakers, writers, producers, and "just plain folks" to hear your story ideas, give feedback and seriously consider your concepts with the goal of discovering the next great idea.

Meistrich says: "I've produced almost a hundred feature films including Billy Bob Thornton's 'Sling Blade', 'You Can Count on Me' with Mark Ruffalo and Laura Linney and 'Belly' with DMX, Nas and Method Man. I'm always looking to "break" new talent. What's totally different about our pitch events is that NEHST is actually making deals, and has already made deals in previous pitch sessions. We want to turn the old Hollywood system on its head; we're getting to evaluate ideas that would never have gotten past the closed doors in the old studio system; and some of them are great."

Anyone can present his or her idea in a comfortable, safe environment. So if you want to pitch, or just want to see how it's done, follow this link to Larry's site for the details. Also, you may pitch online, if you can't attend the live group event. Visit website.

There's a $10. administrative fee, and if you want to pitch you must send in an application and sign a release. Seats go fast.
