From www.filmmakers.com Film DIRECTOR WILL FINALLY ‘FLY’ CastleBright toppers Jay Douglas and Nav Gupta will produce alongside Eric McLeod (“Pirates” 2 and 3, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” “Austin Powers”), who most recently worked with Venghaus while producing Ben Stiller’s “Tropic Thunder,” and aligned with the project shortly after Douglas and Gupta pledged to fast track the film for a 2010 release. The script, co-written with Juan Carlos Ros, centers on a wishful TMZ-like reporter, deprived of hip stories and hot girls, who is mystically granted the ability to transform into a fly, so he can peep on anything he desires; a gift that comes with a price to be paid. “We’re excited to be working with David and Eric and look forward to a long-standing collaboration,” Gupta commented. CastleBright aims to finance 3 to 5 films a year, with budgets ranging from 10 to 100 million. Douglas and Gupta are open to co-financing scenarios and will be actively seeking a distribution deal. © Copyright 2003 by www.filmmakers.com |
