Eric and Erin,
a young couple, recently graduated from high school. They have a warm,
loving relationship. Erin gets accepted to a university in London – full
scholarship - all the way on the other side of the world. They struggle
with having to face a situation neither of them want to face. Interspersed
within this, we see moments of their history as a couple. They both know
what’s coming. This is their last night together. But they just want to
spend the night, savor the moment, and not think about tomorrow. They
don’t want to face it. Not yet. Just enjoy tonight.
She tells him, “It’s never really the end if you don’t say goodbye.” As
much as she is happy to be going away to school, and as much as Eric is
happy for her, neither of them want her to leave. Erin says that she
doesn’t want Eric to be at the airport when she leaves. For her, it will
just make it harder. Instead she wants to save tonight. She falls asleep
in his arms. As she sleeps, Eric kisses her cheek and whispers, “Goodbye,
Erin.”
He gets up and leaves. For them, as a couple, this is NO NAMES PLEASE.
