JAMIE is a timid young
woman. Physically abused as a child, institutionalized as a teenager for
the murder of her abusers and now released into the harsh world to finally
make something of her shattered young life. Guided by her psychologist she
enrolls at New York City's prestigious Columbia University and is quickly
introduced to the world of hard studying, hard partying, materialistic
social ladders and HAZING. Befriended by Nina, a bubbly fellow student,
Jamie eases into her first days as a 'normal' student and prepares to bury
the memories of her past and endeavor on the path of her 'new' life, her
new beginning.
PAIGE is the picture of popularity. The daughter of high-class society
parents, the headmasters daughter and 'Omega Beta Zeda' sorority
president. Her prestigious education only comes second to that of her lust
for power and popularity. The beginning of the new school year brings
excitement for Paige, not at the thought of new endeavors, new friends and
new opportunities but that of 'Hell Week'. The one time of year when eager
sorority hopefuls will subject themselves to whatever physical or mental
humiliation the sorority leaders see fit. Pressured by Nina and coerced by
Paige, Jamie pledges 'Omega Beta Zeda' and is soon in Paige’s sadistic
sight.
Hell Week begins and Jamie grows increasingly worried as she witnesses the
grueling 'circle the fat' rituals performed by the hopefuls, the dangerous
drinking games that ultimately result in Nina dropping out of Columbia and
Jamie losing her only sincere friend. But it is only when one dangerous
ritual results in the death of a young girl and the police being brought
to the sorority, that Paige really sets her sights on Jamie, convinced
Jamie is the one that ratted them out. Paige however, is oblivious to the
torture she is about to exhume in Jamie's mind and following a haze on
Jamie in the neighboring frat house, the last Paige will ever make, Jamie
sets her sights on Paige and proves payback really is a bitch.
With the sorority house now cordoned off as a crime scene, Paige and a
handful of others break into the house in an attempt to find damaging
evidence against Jamie. Unbeknownst to them, Jamie is also inside the
house but she is not alone. With her is her loyal psychologist, who has
consoled and guided Jamie through her whole ordeal, and who has now
promised to help her set things straight. One by one the duo target
Jamie’s tormentors until finally only one remains in the house. Paige.
crouched on the floor of Jamie's room, Paige sorts through the piles of
student photos and fraudulent diaries belonging to Paige but invented by
Jamie, depicting incidents of hazing by Paige and her homicidal thoughts
against fellow students. Paige then comes to realize she is being set up
by Jamie. The confrontation finally begins but Jamie does nothing more
then confess her feelings to Paige and then sedate her. Regaining
consciousness to the sound of male voices, Paige is wheeled out of the
room on a stretcher. Around her she can see blood soaked walls and the
bodies of her fellow sisters.
Restrained and sedated again by paramedics, she once again regains
consciousness this time in the small, vacant rooms of Langford
Institution. Here is where she will live out her days of mental torment,
dark visions and daily doses of soul numbing pills.
The life Jamie once lived but vowed to escape, no matter what it took.
