Set in a New
Jersey pub on a fateful Sunday afternoon, an ex-boxer, Jake "the Saint"
DiSantis, commiserates with friends and fellow boozers, and a young
aspiring actor-writer/handyman. Jake re-imagines his wife's infidelity
while an old man rails against the limits and, what he perceives to be,
the failings of faith and organized religion while a sagacious Vietnam vet
silently nurses his psychic wounds. In the meantime, like a bass line
pulsing through a jazz piece, Jake considers murder. Or, is it...suicide.
Will Jake's life end in a burst of destruction? Or, will he find something
that feels like...redemption?
