A dusty rural
town simmers in the heat with the volatile marriage of a brutish bully
Cal, (38), and Jenna, (25), his sexy and fatally bored wife. Cal wants to
put an end her suspicious trips into the big city so he places a
classified ad in the newspaper to sell her ’67 Mustang. Little does he
know that right under his nose Jenna is having an affair with Sam, the
local barber. When a handsome stranger from the city, Nick, (28), shows up
to buy the car, Cal’s reaction is typically suspicious, but he soon
dismisses it as unfounded jealousy. Meanwhile, Jenna warns a nervous Sam,
40, that Cal suspects their affair and is capable of murder. Shaken, Sam
checks to make sure his gun is within arm’s reach.
Cal and Nick take the car out for a hair-raising test drive on a country
road. Jenna talks Sam into driving her to the city in his car. On the
road, Cal looses his cool when he sees Jenna with Sam, heading in the
opposite direction. The Mustang overtakes Sam’s car and forces it into a
ditch. Cal, with vengeance in his eyes, gets out of the Mustang and walks
toward Sam with a baseball bat, menacing. A terrified Sam takes him down
with one bullet from the gun Jenna insisted he take along. Stunned by his
own actions, Sam crumbles in disbelief over Cal’s dead body.
Jenna runs toward Nick and jumps into his arms. They kiss passionately –
obviously not strangers. They hop in the Mustang and roar away down the
dusty country road toward a life worth killing for.
