Hollywood Award-Winning Actor Clifton Powell To Star In Upcoming Film

Film Project Plays Integral Roles In 'Motown To Movietown' Initiative; Projected Economy Boost For Michigan - Filming To Start Summer 2005

Detroit, MI -- The award-winning actor, Clifton Powell, will play the leading role in the upcoming independent film, Blackjack. Powell is an NAACP Image Award-winning actor most recently nominated for multiple awards in the critically acclaimed movie Ray. A press conference will be held to announce the upcoming film and the 'Motown to Movietown' initiatives, which will impact the metro Detroit communities.

Elliot Tabron, President of Winlane Sports and Entertainment Agency, LLC will host the media and press conference for the Detroit-based production company, in the black ... productions & film, llc for their official unveiling of the Blackjack film project featuring Clifton Powell in the starring role. The in the black ... productions & film will play a key role in creating and producing this high-quality, low-budget, African-American feature film project with a highly targeted distribution plan. Twenty-five percent of the country's film dollars come from African-American moviegoers.

To date, over 100 movies have been filmed in the state of Michigan. Some of these films include: Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2, Die Hard 2, Grosse Pointe Blank, 8-Mile and Roger & Me. The film Blackjack expects to be among the list of Michigan's successful films. "We want to bring positive notoriety back to the city of Detroit. We are committed to the 'Motown to Movietown' initiative and want to revitalize and expand the image of Motown with an innovative twist," says Elliot Tabron, of Winlane Sports and Entertainment Agency, LLC. "We want to create opportunities for aspiring artists and entertainers and provide job opportunities in the Detroit community and throughout Michigan. I believe that any economic or employment increase is a step in the right direction for Detroit," says Elliott Tabron. The film's timely release in conjunction with Super Bowl XL(R) will further reinforce the positive expansion of Detroit city in early 2006.
