Los Angeles, CA —
Wu-Tang Filmz owner and CEO RZA of the well-known hip-hop
family Wu-Tang Clan, has just tapped writer/director Chuck Wilson to
collaborate with him in the creation of his Bobby Digital screenplay.
Wilson who wrote and directed Breakfast at Ben's, currently the highest
rated short film at www.urbanentertainment.com, got his start in film
assisting prominent film director Spike Lee on his 1994 film, Crooklyn.
Wilson has also sold a screenplay to Danny Devito's Jersey Films.
The character of Bobby Digital was invented by RZA. "Bobby makes this
potion and it brings him tune with the digital world. Bobby's mission is to
digitize the world," says RZA.
"I traveled to the Shaolin Temple in China with RZA a couple years ago and
got to know him a little. He is a brilliant artist and his imagination is
boundless. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate
with him, particularly on Bobby Digital," says Wilson.
Chuck's abilities and projects have started to make some noise. He
currently writing an urban comedy for Scary Movie producer Bo Zenga and his
screenplay entitled Rock and Soul is in development, set to star the conscious and talented rapper/actor Mos Def. RZA is set to executive produce the soundtrack.
"I really don't have a life right now. I'm either in the studio making
records or on my computer writing scripts. It's all connected and all
creative which is what I've always wanted", says Wilson.
Wilson also holds the executive position of Director of A&R at Priority
Records in New York.
